Tipping @venkatappa

Context: The exhibition happened at Venkatappa Art Gallery, (organised by VAG forum), which is a state run gallery. Presently the government wants to give this responsibility to private entity, and they also found a potential suitor.
The place is in the memory and hearts of many local artists. This incident began the Karnataka Artist Movement to ensure that Venkatappa Art Gallery remains a Democratic Public Space for Creative Activities. This particular exhibition "VAG Marathon" is an exhibit where 4 artists display their work together for 45 minutes. The next 15 minutes is spent dismantling the previous artists work and displaying the new artists work. This cycle took place from 10.00am to 8.00pm for 3 days, over a 100 artists participated.

My work: here was a performance. The jars are balanced with a speck of salt and a ton of patience. Initially it was only me performing, and gradually more viewers joined me. As we balanced these jars- some would tip over, this continued for 45 minutes of the show.

PS: This was the first time I used performance in my art, and probably the second time I used a white cube.
